Thiên Hương Pagoda – A Place Where People Find a Home
On August 14, 2026, ULVAC VIETNAM visited Thiên Hương Pagoda in Hưng Yên, Vietnam, to carry out a community charity and social contribution activity.
Some places are known as pagodas, but to the children living here, this place is also their home.
Located in Dương Xá, Mỹ Hào, Hưng Yên, Thiên Hương Pagoda has become a place of refuge for people who do not have the opportunity to grow up or live in a complete family environment.
Among them are children who were abandoned before they ever experienced the embrace of their parents; children who lost loved ones at a very young age; single mothers carrying the burden of life on their own; and elderly people who no longer have anyone to rely on in their later years.
The story of this home began with a baby who was abandoned at the entrance of the pagoda.
In 2017, Venerable Thích Nguyên Bình took the baby in and began caring for the child. As more children came to the pagoda, what began with one child gradually grew into a warm and supportive home.
Over time, Thiên Hương Pagoda has become a shared home for more than 40 children in difficult circumstances, as well as single mothers and elderly people without family support.

Perhaps what makes the story of Thiên Hương Pagoda so touching is not simply the number of people receiving support, but the fact that:
A place originally dedicated to spiritual practice has become a warm home for people who have nowhere else to return to.
Here, children need more than just a meal, a set of clothes, or a place to sleep.
They need the opportunity to grow.
They need to go to school.
They need someone to care for them when they are sick.
They need someone to stay by their side when they are sad.
And above all, they need to know that:
They are still loved.
Behind a home caring for more than 40 children is a journey that is far from easy. Every day brings expenses for food, clothing, education, healthcare, and countless other basic needs that are essential to a child’s development.
Yet it is precisely these seemingly ordinary things that carry such great meaning:
Giving children who once lacked family love and affection the opportunity to experience a healthy and ordinary childhood, just like other children.

Thiên Hương Pagoda is therefore more than just a place that shelters people facing difficult circumstances.
It also reminds us that:
A home is not always built by walls. Sometimes, it is built by people who are willing to stay, care for one another, and share love.
Perhaps the most beautiful thing about this place is that this spirit of love does not stop with just one person.
From the pagoda and caregivers to volunteers, donors, and people who happen to learn about its story, everyone contributes a small part.
Together, these contributions give children another day at school, another warm and fulfilling meal, another gift on a special occasion, and another reason to believe that there is still much goodness in the world.
One Visit – One Small Action, One Meaningful Impact
When visiting Thiên Hương Pagoda, the members of ULVAC VIETNAM brought not only gifts and essential supplies but also genuine care, companionship, and a desire to support those in need.
During the charity activity, the ULVAC VIETNAM team spent time meeting and interacting with the children and other people being cared for at the pagoda. We also presented them with meaningful gifts and essential daily supplies.
These gifts may not be enough to completely change someone’s life.
But ULVAC VIETNAM believes that every act of care has meaning.
A gift can bring happiness for a day.
A simple word of encouragement can make someone feel cared for.
And when more people come together and lend a helping hand, their collective support can help a community home continue its meaningful journey.
This is the value that ULVAC VIETNAM hopes to share through this community charity activity.
